Lone Star College is hiring a Business Manager to coordinate diverse business functions across Student Financials, AR/AP, and Collections. The role leads department staff, develops compliant processes, and steers budgeting and cost controls in a higher-education setting.

The position emphasizes customer service excellence, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration to support eight campuses in the Houston area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work in a higher education environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Business Services office including AR/AP, Student Financials, and Collections.
• Supervise full-time and/or part-time staff; assign schedules and deadlines to ensure workflow efficiency.
• Create and implement compliant business processes; develop marketing and customer service plans.
• Manage student financial issues and communicate resolutions to students.
• Review reports and data to plan department activities and priorities.
• Monitor budgets and assist with budget recommendations.
• Foster exceptional customer service through staff training and supervision.
• Make presentations at workshops and information sessions as needed.
• Identify and implement administrative best practices and process improvements.
• Complete ad-hoc projects; perform research, data analysis, and reporting.
