Job summary

Salt Lake Community College (UT) is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach automotive technology courses, guiding students through engines, electrical, hydraulics, and transmissions. Qualifications

  • Minimum six years as an automotive technician.
  • AAS Degree in Automotive Technology with 4 years experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology with two years experience as an automotive technician.
  • High School or Post Secondary teaching experience may be substituted for industry experience.
  • ASE Certified – G-1.
  • ASE Master Certification with G-1.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare course material and develop curriculum for automotive repair topics.
  • Supervise automotive repairs conducted by students and follow the course curriculum.
  • Prepare and administer student evaluations and maintain accurate classroom records.
  • Provide ADA accommodations as directed and answer questions about the course.
  • Attend required department and school meetings and fulfill assignments; serve on committees.
