Job summary

BU PATH seeks recent Boston-area graduates for a year of full-time AmeriCorps service as college advisers in partner high schools. Advisers will report to program staff and on-site supervisors, serving 1–2 years in a paid AmeriCorps role with a living allowance and benefits package including health/dental and tuition remission.

Advisers will work in 40 hours/week placements, primarily at high schools, with some time at Boston University.

Qualifications

• Tact, diplomacy, and a strong commitment to service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively to solve problems.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree required, ideally completed May 2026 or earlier.
• Boston natives or BU PATH alumni preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one admissions and financial aid assistance to students and families.
• Organize group events to help students plan for college.
• Build productive relationships with principals, counselors and teachers.
• Assess school needs with BU PATH and adapt programs accordingly.
• Collect and interpret progress data to evaluate program outcomes.
• Submit monthly progress reports documenting results.
