Job summary

Farmingdale State College is hiring for the College Connections Initiative (CCI) at the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center. The role focuses on expanding college access for adult learners through program development, advising, and outreach.

You will teach seminars, assist students with applications and financial aid, and coordinate campus visits while representing LIEOC at events and committees. Strong communication, data analysis, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with college access, college success/support services, academic advising, guidance counseling, admissions counseling, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs that promote college access, awareness, application completion, and enrollment.
• Teach the Pre-Freshman Seminar within the College Preparation Academy.
• Assist LIEOC students and community with college applications, fee waivers, financial aid, and personal statements.
• Serve as a liaison between participants and college administrators.
• Coordinate and lead visits to local colleges and universities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with college admissions representatives.
• Utilize National Student Clearinghouse to track and support outcomes.
• Participate in professional development on increasing access and success for adult learners.
• Represent LIEOC at college fairs, career fairs, and outreach events.
• Participate in committees to improve college access and opportunities.
