Job summary

University of Massachusetts Boston is seeking an Educational Outreach Counselor to provide comprehensive college, career, and academic advising to a large Talent Search caseload. The role focuses on recruitment, enrollment, and readiness services within partner schools in the Boston area.

You will collaborate with Pre-collegiate TRIO and Early College programs, deliver college-access curricula, and maintain accurate program data and outcomes for grant compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with coursework in counseling/education related fields.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in secondary or higher education settings.
• Experience working with Talent Search-eligible students and families, including individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 300–350 Talent Search students with individual and group advising.
• Provide academic advising to 60–100 Early College students focusing on course selection and progress.
• Coordinate college access services and monitor progress toward college readiness milestones.
• Deliver workshops on financial aid, college applications, and career exploration.
