Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting youth in education-focused settings.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, outgoing personality with flexible schedule (some evenings/weekends).

Responsibilities

  • Support transition from high school to college or vocational programs.
  • Help students identify, research, and apply to colleges aligned with goals.
  • Assist in writing college essays, applications, and securing financial aid.
  • Guide youth through FAFSA, TAP, and scholarship renewals.
  • Coordinate SAT/Pre-SAT prep and college tours.
  • Develop and maintain individual post-secondary education plans.
  • Collaborate with youth, families, JCCA staff, schools, and DOE partners.
  • Submit CSE discharge referrals to align school placements.
