Job summary

Virginia Tech is seeking a coordinator to expand educational opportunities for low-income students across all majors. The role informs families about college opportunities, supports transitions from high school to college, advocates for Pell-eligible students in CAC programs, and helps with data collection and evaluation of the program.

The position is currently classified as SCHEV and offers limited telecommuting with hybrid options, reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for College Access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Ability to work with diverse constituencies across the state
• Experience with underrepresented/underserved students and families
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends

• Inform prospective students and families about post-secondary opportunities
• Help prepare students for high school to college transition
• Advocate for Pell-eligible students in CAC pre-college programs
• Gather data and assist with program evaluation
