CSU Fullerton's Auxiliary Services Corporation (ASC) is seeking an Academic Advisor for the Upward Bound program to support students through college readiness activities and advising. You will identify eligible participants, assess needs, provide guidance, and design services to help students progress to higher education.

This grant-funded role requires coordinating with SAUSD sites, delivering workshops, and maintaining records while traveling to target sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students and educational programs.
• Experience conducting workshops or group advising.
• Experience implementing academic support/enrichment programs, such as tutoring.
• Experience working with low-income students or first-generation college students.
• Experience working with parents/guardians of high school-aged youth.
• Ability to collaborate with campus, schools and external partners.
• Experience providing or overseeing academic support such as tutoring.
• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and databases.
• Reliable transportation to travel to school sites and events.

Responsabilités

• Provide academic support at least two days a week and monthly Saturday Academies in Santa Ana.
• Help students progress onto higher education by advising, assisting with financial aid, workshops, tutoring, and field trips.
• Meet weekly with participants for academic and career advising.
• Monitor and update participants' educational plans; develop strategies for improvement.
• Create and facilitate workshops on college access topics such as applications and financial aid.
• Support tutoring after school and Saturday sessions; field trips.
• Prepare weekly student contact records and attendance; communicate with parents.
• Develop rapports with students and their parents.
• Recruit new students and interview for eligibility.
• Provide data and supporting documents for reports; assist with project reports.
• Must travel to target schools and off-campus sites as needed.
• Provide print and digital information about financial aid and postsecondary programs.
• Perform all duties for project implementation and operation.
• Other duties as assigned.
