Job summary

Teachers Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented collections specialist to initiate contact with delinquent borrowers by phone, mail, or in person. You will review loan activity, discuss repayment options, and document outcomes to help minimize losses.

The role requires experience in debt collection, familiarity with Akcelerant or similar tools, and strong written and verbal communication skills, with adherence to CFPB and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or four years of directly related experience.
• Minimum four years of related experience.
• Microsoft Applications including Excel and Word required.
• Regulations and policies regarding debt collection and collection law required.
• Akcelerant and DNA platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect outstanding balances on loans to minimize credit union losses.
• Contact or meet with members to discuss delinquency and repayment options.
• Engage in skip-tracing to locate members and verify payments.
• Document account notes and follow up with members on loan status.
• Recommend loan repayment strategies and work with management on hardship cases.
• Adhere to all Credit Union procedures and federal regulations.
