Job summary

The Neville Public Museum in Green Bay, WI seeks a Collections Manager to lead preservation, access, and management of the museum's diverse holdings, including loaned artifacts and exhibition assets.

Reporting to the Executive Director and working with the Exhibitions Manager, this role oversees the collection management system, ensures compliance with laws, coordinates loans, and guides staff and volunteers in conservation and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Art, American History or Natural Sciences, or Museum Studies with collections focus.
• Minimum three years of museum registration experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of PastPerfect Web Edition and museum collections management procedures.
• Ability to supervise staff and volunteers and coordinate loans and de-accessions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the museum's collection management system (PastPerfect) and train staff.
• Facilitate incoming/outgoing loans and manage deeds of gifts, bequests, donations.
• Ensure compliance with NAGPRA and related laws.
• Supervise Curator, Education Specialist, Research and Digitization Technician; participate in meetings.
• Oversee risk management and insurance coverage for objects.
• Develop long-term collection strategies and acquisition plans.
• Coordinate conservation efforts with external consultants as needed.
