Job summary

Cleveland Museum of Natural History is seeking a Registrar to lead risk management, ensure compliance with legal and professional standards, and supervise a team of collections assistants. The role oversees the EMu system, collections records, and loans to support access and care of the permanent collection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in collections or preventive conservation.
• 3–5 years of collections management experience.
• 3–5 years of relational database experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in stewardship of the Museum’s permanent collections.
• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
• Lead risk management including environmental monitoring, security, and disaster planning.
• Oversee maintenance of collections records, both digital and physical.
• Prepare collections objects for entry into the permanent collection.
