Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare billing or collections preferred.
  • Medical billing and coding experience is a plus.

Our Collections Lead is responsible for leading the research, collection, and resolution of an assigned account portfolio in accordance with PharMerica’s Collections Policy and Procedures and the Consumer Credit Protection Act of 1977. Our finance and accounting departments focus on the organization's financial management strategies and execution.

This is a remote position. Applicants can live anywhere within the continental USA.

Post-training schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 6:00 pm Mountain Time

Must be able to work effectively in Mountain Time Zone. This is non-negotiable.

Responsibilities
  • Manage collection efforts for facility-level accounts for services rendered by PharMerica and reconcile any balance variances, including partial payments, double payments, and credits.
  • Communicate with facilities via inbound/outbound calls and emails, explaining bills and following up on past-due accounts using approved collection techniques.
  • Identify at-risk accounts and escalate to management and account managers.
  • Document collection efforts with clear and concise notes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers, including facility owners and CEOs, to resolve accounts by collecting balances or taking other actions (write-offs, billing adjustments, in-house collections, referrals to attorneys or collection agencies).
  • Maintain productivity records.
  • Work with pharmacy billing associates to obtain accurate billing and resident information, and resolve unpaid claims through adjudication.
  • Coordinate with Facility Collection Director/Manager/Supervisor and management team on accounts requiring special attention.
  • Handle inbound correspondence from pharmacy locations, nursing homes, and customers.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by Facility Collections Manager/Supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, policies, procedures, and applicable laws and standards.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of billing and/or collections experience.
  • Experience with third-party billing or collections in healthcare; AS400 experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in data entry, MS Excel, Word, Webex, MS Teams, and basic computer skills.
  • Medical billing and coding experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team.
