Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a collections associate in Valley, AL, to locate, contact, and secure payments from customers with delinquent accounts. You will send notices, discuss terms, document all interactions, and process payments while maintaining cash drawer integrity.

Travel to customers’ homes may be required for overdue payments and potential repository actions with Store Manager approval. A valid driver’s license and prior collections or office experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; six months experience in payment collections or general office procedures.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails letters and/or late charge notices to encourage payment.
• Con fers with customers by text or telephone to determine reasons for overdue payment.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers.
• Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer’s account.
• Maintains and balances a cash drawer, with security precautions.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect late payments and assist with repossessions when approved.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent customers.
• Initiates credit investigations by telephone for new applicants under supervision.
• Logs details of work activities daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Operates computer, printer, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
• Logs service requests into PQA and schedules merchandise repairs.
• Assists customers on the sales floor and participates in CRM updates.
• Maintains acceptable sales quota as established by Store Manager.
• Upholds HOMЕ values and standards.
