Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in customer service, collections, billing, or office administration preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive account information professionally and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with consumers regarding past-due balances and payment expectations in a professional, courteous manner.
• Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn billing and account management software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct collection efforts and communicate with consumers regarding past-due accounts, payment arrangements, and account balances in accordance with Cooperative policies and procedures.
• Respond to consumer inquiries by phone and in person regarding billing, payments, account status, new service requests, and other account-related matters.
• Review, verify, and enter consumer account information into the Cooperative’s computer system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Process new service applications, service orders, and related documentation in coordination with other departments.
• Research consumer accounts, prepare reports, and provide accurate information as requested.
• Resolve consumer concerns when possible and refer more complex issues to the appropriate department or supervisor, following up as needed.
• Operate computers, software programs, and standard office equipment to complete daily responsibilities.
• Participate in meetings, training, and cross-training opportunities to support other office administrative functions as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
