What We Need

Following established guidelines, handle inbound and outbound calls regarding payment and other inquiries relating to their accounts. You will report directly to the Collections Supervisor.

How We Work

As a Collections Agent, you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in Houston, TX
  • Company-issued equipment
  • Formal, hands-on training

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Responsible for researching and collecting of Corpay products
  • Making recommendations based on policy/procedures for mitigating risk
  • Following established guidelines/procedures regarding negotiations
  • Negotiating payments (dollar/method/date) on past due delinquency using procedural guidelines
  • Ensuring adherence to Comdata debt collections practices and procedures
  • Monitoring past due accounts and taking appropriate actions to resolve problems by contacting customers, escalating issues to management; coordinating with respective departments on any plans/solutions
  • Maintaining collection files and notes to facilitate aging reduction
  • Researching and reconciling outstanding accounts to resolve issues and determine if adjustments, corrections, or collections should take place
  • Providing trainee support and coaching as needed while providing feedback to management
  • Performing other job-related duties as requested to ensure the goals and objectives of the department are met
  • Assessing those customers changing financial status and recommending modifications to that relationship
  • Reporting to a collection supervisor or manager and interacting closely with Sales, Customer Relations, and other Fleetcor departments to minimize losses and maximize profits

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, some college strongly preferred
  • 1+ year experience in the Collections/Customer Service/Telemarketing/Telesales industries required
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills required
  • Basic organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be goal oriented
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal departments and external customers
  • Promote customer awareness of contractual terms and conditions
  • Demonstrate a self-motivated independent work approach
