Job summary

Fastest Labs of Frederick is seeking a detail-oriented Collection Technician to join our Frederick, MD team. In a fast-paced, client-facing setting, you will collect drug, alcohol, and DNA specimens following strict chain-of-custody procedures and document results accurately.

This role requires a high school diploma, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. DOT/DAPM certification is a plus, and prior experience in phlebotomy or clinical settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior specimen collection or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• DOT/DAPM collection certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform drug, alcohol, and DNA specimen collections following chain-of-custody procedures
• Conduct urine, oral fluid, and breath alcohol testing in DOT/non-DOT guidelines
• Accurately document and process collection paperwork and electronic records
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant collection facility
• Provide a professional and respectful experience for all clients and donors
• Communicate collection results and status updates promptly
• Adhere to privacy and confidentiality standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant collection facility
• Provide a professional and respectful experience for all clients and donors
• Communicate collection results and status updates to appropriate parties in a timely manner
• Adhere to all federal, state, and company privacy and confidentiality standards

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience in specimen collection, phlebotomy, or a medical/clinical setting preferred
• DOT/DAPM collection certification is a plus (training may be provided)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols
