Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a Collections Representative to analyze delinquent accounts and payment activity, ensuring timely payments from payers. You will contact patients or third parties for collection of balances and investigate alternative payment options.

The role requires basic knowledge of hospital billing procedures, 2 years in healthcare or collections, and strong communication skills. An on-site training period is followed by potential hybrid work after probation.

Summary

Analyzes all account delinquencies and account activity to ensure timely and accurate payments from the appropriate payers. Contacts appropriate patient or third party for collection of account. Analyzes account activity. Analyzes, investigates, and recommend alternative payment options to patients.

Formal Education Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) to two (2) years of college preferred.
Experience & Training Required
  • Two (2) years experience in healthcare environment or at least (2) years experience in the collection field.
  • Proven sales ability considered a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of patient accounting procedures and hospital policies.
  • General knowledge of third party payers, collection laws, FDCPA ruling and collection processes.
  • Experience with automated collection system.
  • Knowledge of skip tracing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of hospital patient accounting procedures, computers, calculators, telephones, and other equipment used in the Patient Financial Services area.

Salary

$19.23/hr - $23.08/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
