EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA library school.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for curation and maintenanceof Children’s collections according to the SCPL Collection Development Policy.
• Identify materials for purchase based onprofessional reviews, collection analysis and library trends.
• Analyze and maintain balanced andattractive collections through holds lists, circulation data and communitydemographics.
• Coordinate weeding with department headsand branch staff.
• Collaborate with cataloging librarians tomaintain and improve accessibility of materials in the online catalog.
• Manage collection-related funds carefullyand evenly over the fiscal year.
• Substitute in other departments andbranches as needed
• Participate in cross-training

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
