Job summary

HF Sinclair Puget Sound Refinery in Anacortes, WA seeks a Coke Handling Operator to learn and perform duties in the Coke Handling Department. You will follow instructions for coke movement, operate equipment, and support safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

The role requires working 8.5-hour days with 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends/holidays, and being on-call for site responsibilities. A strong safety mindset and TWIC may be required.

Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis with no sponsorship required.
• TWIC card or ability to qualify for one.
• Able to read, speak, and write English fluently and follow procedures.
• Competent with a process computer interface to control operations.
• Mechanical skills and experience with hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Willing to work 8.5-hour days and 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and overtime.
• Reside within 60 minutes of the site or relocate within 60 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Support refinery safety processes and maintain on-the-job safety vigilance.
• Operate equipment including Coke Cutting, Overhead Bridge Crane, and loading systems.
• Load and stockpile coke using front-end loaders (988 and 980).
• Perform daily inspections, PM paperwork, and equipment maintenance.
• Collect, manage, and transport samples for laboratory analysis.
• Respond to callouts, holdovers, and emergencies as required.
• Complete required certifications and training and maintain environmental compliance.
