Job summary

HF Sinclair refinery in Anacortes, WA is seeking a Process Operator to learn and operate their assigned processing unit under supervision. You will follow instructions to maintain process conditions, accept production plans and ensure proper product routing and disposal.

The role involves rotating 12-hour shifts, safety emphasis, and readiness to respond to callouts. Prior refinery experience and TWIC credential are preferred, with strong English skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently and understand operating procedures.
• Formal education related to production operations or a related skill area is preferred.
• Previous Process Operator or Chemical Operator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the refinery safety process and maintains on the job safety vigilance.
• Works rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Responds to callouts and holdovers.
• Reviews daily orders at shift relief.
• Checks instruments, records rounds in PM schedule, checks equipment and assures that the operation and equipment conform to operating requirements.
• Operates equipment manually and/or by instrument/computer control, maintaining temperatures, pressures, levels, and other process variables to meet planned production and quality.
• Fires furnaces, operates pumps, sets lines and manifolds, changes blinds and jump-overs, operates compressors, gauges tanks, draws samples, runs control tests, sends samples to the Lab, and adjusts chemical injection rates.
• Repairs equipment as required and within ability to accomplish repairs safely and requests maintenance support as necessary.
• Performs other work, such as lubricating equipment, cleanup and housekeeping.
