Job summary

L&S Electric, Inc. is seeking a skilled technician to inspect, wind, assemble, and install coils in AC/DC rotating machines. You will operate specialized repair and testing equipment and follow industry best practices to ensure high-quality rewinds.

You must perform with safety in mind, complete documentation, and contribute to accurate costing for rewind projects, while maintaining a clean, organized shop and meeting customer service needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong electrical theory and mechanical aptitude.
• Good hand-eye coordination and safety awareness.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and parts for damage, diagnose possible reasons for issues.
• Wind, assemble, and install coils in AC/DC rotating machines using industry best practices.
• Operate specialized repair and testing equipment used in electrical rotating apparatus repair industry.
• Braze using oxy-acetylene, induction, and/or resistance welding techniques.
• Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment.
• Complete required job documentation.
• Provide feedback to assist in accurate costing and work scope development for rewind projects.
• Utilize manufacturer’s recommendations and industry best.
• Conduct preventive maintenance as required on equipment in your work area.
• Clean and organize the shop, as required to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
• Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervision.
