Job summary

IES in Massillon, OH is seeking a skilled Motor Winder to join our manufacturing team. You will wind coils for AC and DC motors, using winding machines and hand tools, while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

The role requires interpreting schematics and working with copper wire and insulation materials. You will read motor blueprints, set up equipment for different motor types, inspect coils for defects, and document production results.

Qualifications

• Experience in motor manufacturing or electrical equipment repair is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in motor winding techniques and use of winding machines (automatic and manual).
• Familiarity with insulation types, wire gauges, and coil patterns.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, motor blueprints, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate winding machines and hand tools to wind coils for AC and DC motors.
• Handle copper wire, insulation materials, and components per specifications.
• Read schematics and blueprints to determine winding specs (turns, coil dimensions, wire gauge).
• Inspect wound coils for defects and perform testing to meet specs.
• Set up and maintain winding equipment and perform routine maintenance.
