Job summary

BlueScope Steel Limited in Middletown, OH is seeking a Material Handler to safely prepare materials for packaging and staging at the paint line. You will package coils, verify identification tickets, and move goods to storage, while coordinating with Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to resolve issues.

The role requires forklift and crane experience, strong reading and math skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for packaging and shipping of finished coils.
• Safely package finished coils and move to designated storage.
• Verify coils have proper identification tickets before storage.
• Ensure finished goods are not damaged or non-conforming before storage.
• Quarantine non-conforming material and notify Quality Control.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to resolve issues.
• Operate forklift, overhead crane, and power tools; assist payoff operator when needed.
• Identify metal defects.
