Job summary

The Power Plant Manager at Yale University will direct the day-to-day operations of the Sterling Power Plant, including cogeneration of electricity and distribution of steam and chilled water to the School of Medicine Campus and Yale New Haven Hospital.

Responsibilities include leading plant staff, overseeing maintenance and engineering support, managing budgets, and ensuring safety, compliance, and timely project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with eight years of related experience or equivalent.
• Must have ability to lead, supervise and develop exempt/non-exempt staff.
• Experience in operating cogeneration or utility plants is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day operations of the Sterling Power Plant and distribution of utilities.
• Oversees maintenance, engineering support, and safety programs for plant operations.
• Manages staff, schedules, budgets, and contractor activities with adherence to policies.
