Job summary

ADM Decatur Cogeneration is seeking a Utility Operator to manage day-to-day material handling duties in a coal-fired facility. You will unload coal and lime, log data, perform troubleshooting, and help with preventative maintenance while supporting safe operations.

The role requires a 12-hour schedule on a 28-day rotation (7a–7p and 7p–7a, 4 days on/4 days off) with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits starting on day one. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and organized team player with solid verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to read/interpret drawings.
• Solid troubleshooting and maintenance skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate rail locomotive, skid steer, and end loader as part of material handling.
• Unloading coal and lime by truck/rail; loading ash trucks; entry in ADM Weigh system.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure safety and OSHA compliance; coordinate with facility operations.
• Housekeeping and data logging; contribute to environmental controls.
