Job summary

Westrock Coffee is seeking a Roast and Grind Operator for the Collins Plant to ensure continuous coffee flow from green to roasted and ground products. You will operate automated equipment, manage green coffee storage, and maintain roast profiles while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities include pressing roasters and grinders to spec, performing quality checks, and coordinating with the R&G team to sustain production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Food & Beverage or related manufacturing experience.
• Experience in monitoring product quality.
• Certified forklift experience.
• Strong math skills using percentages and fractions with recipes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MES systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft applications.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of inventory control systems.
• Willingness to develop coffee industry qualifications (Q-grader, SCAA certifications).
• Ability to communicate with co-workers.
• Ability to understand department documents and reports.
• Strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated coffee processing equipment to roast and grind coffee.
• Manage storage and inventory of green coffee in the warehouse.
• Set up green loading commands and maintain silo inventories.
• Operate green cleaning and loading equipment for roasting prep.
• Roast coffee to profile specifications and monitor roast times/temperatures.
• Operate grinders to meet grind specifications.
• Run supersack filling stations for packaging prep.
• Move pallets to stage coffee in correct locations.
• Complete shift logs, forms, and checklists.
• Perform real-time quality checks on each batch.
• Monitor equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Elevate needs to R&G lead to maintain workflow.
• Operate forklift and other material-moving equipment safely.
• Record production data in ERP systems.
• Schedule cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Participate in sensory analysis of roasted blends.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow GMP.
