Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Coffee Specialist in our Madison store to be the in-store expert on coffee. You will conduct brewing demonstrations, educate customers on beans, origins, and equipment, and provide personalized recommendations.

You will lead coffee classes, promote espresso machines, grinders, and accessories, and contribute to achieving revenue through education and engagement. A passion for coffee and strong customer interaction skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Passion for coffee and in-depth knowledge of brewing methods, origins, and equipment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create engaging, hands-on experiences for customers.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand with memorable customer experiences and loyalty-building activities.
• Lead coffee brewing demonstrations and educate customers on brewing techniques (pour-over, French press, AeroPress, espresso, cold brew, etc.).
• Assist customers in selecting beans and equipment, and promote products to drive sales.
• Deliver classes that engage customers and achieve program goals, measured by sign-ups and product sales.
• Collaborate with store leaders on merchandising and align culinary programming with store priorities.
