Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare Corporate is seeking an experienced Hospital Coding Operations Manager to lead and optimize coding processes for inpatient and outpatient services. You will provide daily status updates, oversee chart review requests, and drive quality improvements to ensure compliant and accurate reimbursements.

The role requires 4+ years in hospital coding, supervisory experience, and professional coding credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS).

Qualifications

• Education: GED or HS diploma required.
• Experience: 4 years of Hospital Coding/HIM Inpatient and/or Outpatient coding experience required.
• Certifications: RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing Hospital Coding Operations team. Provide daily updates regarding coding processes, intra-departmental chart review requests and quality improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures and governing agencies. Assists with developing policies and procedures to facilitate timely coding and accurate reimbursement.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 4 years of Hospital Coding/HIM Inpatient and/or Outpatient coding experience Required
• Management/Supervisory experience in healthcare related field Preferred
• Specialty Hospital Coding experience Preferred
• Experience in coding across multiple specialties within a hospital coding environment and remote coding experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• One or more of the following certifications: Upon Hire Required
• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator or
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician
