Job summary

Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho seeks a Coding Supervisor to lead the HIM coding team and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely claims processing. You will oversee ICD-10-CM and CPT coding, mentor staff, and develop reports on clinical and financial impact while maintaining HIPAA safeguards in a virtual or on-site workflow.

Applicants should have CCS and CPC credentials, a AHIMA-accredited degree, and at least five years in coding with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s Degree accredited by AHIMA.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certifications.
• Five (5) years in relevant field with one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and rules.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent computer applications knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Autonomy; self-directed.
• MS-DRG and APR-DRG knowledge.
• APC, OCE, NCCI knowledge.
• Good attendance and ability to work in telecommuting settings.

Responsibilities

• Complies with HIPAA and maintains 100% patient confidentiality for e-PHI.
• Responds to inquiries from Business Office on patient claims resolution.
• Assists coding team to ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
• Develops reports and collects data for studies on clinical evaluation, fiscal impact, and profitability.
• Trains new staff on coding standards, tools, and updates.
• Tracks performance metrics such as accuracy, productivity, and turnaround times.
• Stays current with coding software and transaction code sets, HIPAA requirements, and future issues.
