Job summary

Madisonhealth in Rexburg, Idaho seeks a remote, full-time Hospital Coding Specialist to accurately code professional charges and support reimbursement through precise ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding. You will collaborate across departments to ensure consistency and quality documentation.

Required: CCS-P or CPC (or equivalent) certification, Cerner or similar EMR experience, and proficiency with Outlook/Word/Excel. Occasional in-person attendance may be needed on campus.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding systems.
• Solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with the ability to interpret complex clinical documentation and chart notes.
• Experience with Cerner or other physician EMR systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Windows environments.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Current certification required: CCS-P (AHIMA), CPC (AAPC), or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge of medical coding or completion of a coding education program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Job description

This role supports multiple departments across the hospital organization, ensuring seamless collaboration and consistency in coding practices. The primary focus is to accurately capture all professional coding activities to support appropriate reimbursement. This position is responsible for coding hospital-owned professional charges with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to campus to allow for occasional in-person attendance.

Classification: Remote, Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Required Skills & Qualifications:
