Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology or equivalent required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or CCS-P preferred.
• Minimum of three years of medical coding in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Professional Office staff and coordinate workload and billing functions.
• Assist in hiring/selections and discuss disciplinary actions as needed.
• Plan and coordinate ongoing staff training and comprehensive orientation.
• Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and respond to issues.
• Perform staff performance appraisals and assist with employee relations.
• Maintain timely charges within payer timelines and ensure coding accuracy.
• Monitor revenue cycle metrics and identify problems.
• Develop and maintain Central Coding Office information systems with the manager.
