Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Coding Educator & Auditor at the Methodist Corporate Office in Omaha, NE. The role focuses on education, training and auditing of coding staff across inpatient and outpatient settings, with an emphasis on ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT guidelines.

You will design training plans, perform audits during probation, and stay current with government updates. The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in Health Information Management or related field, 5+ years

Qualifications

• Minimum associates degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in coding of acute care inpatient services or hospital outpatient and/or professional services.
• RHIT/RHIA and/or CCS/CPC/COC required.
• CPMA or CICA certification required or must obtain within twelve months of hire.
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding.

Responsibilities

• Educate and audit Coding staff by developing training plans with defined timelines.
• Inpatient ICD-10/Procedure and Outpatient CPT coding coverage as applicable.
• Organize inpatient/outpatient coding education and CEU offerings.
• Lead audits during probation and identify coding guideline improvements.
• Collaborate with Coding Leadership and management on process improvements.
• Resolve APC Edits and review CMS edits to ensure proper coding and reimbursement.
