Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE seeks an HIM Coding Lead to oversee revenue integrity, audit coding accuracy, and ensure proper charge capture. This role reports to the Revenue Integrity Manager and collaborates across departments to optimize the revenue cycle.

The position emphasizes leadership in coding practices, education, and special projects within the Health Information Management team, with opportunities for professional growth and education support.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in revenue integrity in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Current knowledge of revenue cycle processes and hospital/medical billing.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM/PCS, NCCI edits; Medicare LCD/NCDs.
• Bachelor's in HIM, business, or related field (or equivalent)
• AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts audit/review activities to ensure revenue management and coding integrity.
• Supports education to leadership and implementation on revenue processes.
• Acts as liaison to staff regarding billing system issues.
• Collaborates with HIM, Patient Financial Services, Clinical Departments and Compliance.
• Performs special projects to improve revenue management.
