Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Compliance Coding Auditor-Educator to serve as the subject matter expert for CPT, ICD and HCC coding and to be a key contact for IHA offices and the Revenue Department.

You will develop and lead audit projects, report results through a standard process, identify errors, conduct one‑on‑one audit meetings, and provide corrective education. You will train staff and providers on coding standards to support accurate, compliant medical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified Professional Coder or RHIT is required, Certified Auditor of HIM designation is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience coding, reimbursement analysis, insurance issue resolution and medical record auditing.
• Previous experience with primary and multi-specialty care preferred.
• Health Information Management and data management experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develops and leads audit projects for medical record integrity.
• Reports audit results utilizing a standard reporting process.
• Identifies new errors while performing audits, investigates and assesses root cause.
• Performs one-on-one Audit meetings and provides for corrective educational guidance.
• Maintains complete knowledge and complies with all relevant insurance, CPT coding and diagnosis guidelines.
• Provides training for IHA staff and providers on CPT, ICD10 and HCC coding standards and procedures.
