Job summary

Saint Luke’s is hiring a Medical Coder to review inpatient medical records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG codes for billing, and support regulatory reporting. The role requires determining primary and secondary diagnoses, procedures, and data abstraction while meeting quality and productivity standards.

Certification with CCS, RHIT or RHIA is required. The position may involve telecommuting options and requires adherence to department guidelines and workflows.

Qualifications

• Certification CCS, RHIT or RHIA required.
• Experience with inpatient coding is preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG assignment essential.
• Ability to determine first listed diagnosis and secondary diagnoses.

Job description

Opportunity

Review medical record documentation of lower acuity inpatients to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes for billing, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. Ability to determine first listed diagnosis, secondary diagnoses, and surgical procedures. Analyze documentation and abstract pertinent data. Must maintain minimum quality and productivity standards.

Required Certification for role include: CCS, RHIT or RHIA

The Shifts
