Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City seeks a qualified healthcare coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRGs for inpatient accounts, ensuring accurate billing and reporting. You will determine first-listed and secondary diagnoses, abstract data, and query clinicians as needed.
The role requires CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification with strong adherence to quality and productivity standards. Telecommuting options and a collaborative CDI team environment are part of the role.
Job Description The Opportunity: Review medical record documentation of lower acuity inpatients to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes for billing, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to determine first listed diagnosis, secondary diagnoses, and surgical procedures.
Analyze documentation and abstract pertinent data.
Must maintain minimum quality and productivity standards.
Required Certification for role include: CCS, RHIT or RHIA.
The Shifts: 40 hours per week 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM core hours.
