Job summary

St. Luke’s Hospital is seeking a Coding Specialist III to abstract clinical data from inpatient records and assign ICD-9-CM and HCPCS codes. You will work to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates and accurately enter information into the hospital's abstracting software.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years of inpatient coding experience, and RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification. Benefits start day one, with pension/401K, and education assistance available.

Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient coding and medical record abstraction.
• Knowledge of ICD-9-CM and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Education Credentials and applicable certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Promote teamwork with all members of the healthcare team.

Abstracts pertinent information to assign the ICD-9-CM and HCPCS codes in compliance with all regulatory mandates and outpatient reporting requirements and accurately enters this information in the hospital's abstracting software.
