Job summary

Trustpoint Rehabilitation Hospital of Lubbock is seeking a qualified Coder to join our inpatient rehabilitation team in Lubbock, TX. The role focuses on accurate ICD-10-CM coding for reimbursement, with emphasis on maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with regulations.

The Coder will work with physicians and care teams to ensure precise documentation and coding for both adult and pediatric patients in a premier rehabilitation hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical coding experience in ICD-9/ICD-10 preferred.
• Medical Coding Certification preferred.
• Current knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles, government regulations, protocols, and third party payer requirements regarding coding and billing.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Two years of medical coding experience in ICD-9/ICD-10 preferred.
• Medical Coding Certification preferred.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

• Current knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles, government regulations, protocols, and third party payer requirements regarding coding and billing.
• Knowledge of government prospective payment system guidelines preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
