Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg, a 112-bed behavioral health facility, seeks a full-time Professional Coder and Medical Records Clerk to manage chart assembly, coding, and discharge record abstraction.

This role supports patients in crisis, ensures chart retrieval and signature compliance, and contributes to accurate medical record keeping at a community-based UHS subsidiary.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Health Information Technician or Certified Professional Coder is REQUIRED.
• High school diploma or equivalent; coding/records experience preferred.
• Experience with 3M encoder, Excel and MS4 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Chart assembly, chart analysis and coding.
• Computer abstracting of all discharged patient medical records.
• Responds to patients in crisis and acts accordingly.
• Retrieving charts from the floor and putting them together.
• Checking for missing signatures and filing.

Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as, an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Roxbury is currently hiring a full-time Professional Coder and Medical Records Clerk. This is a Monday thru Friday position.

Job Duties and Responsbilities

• Chart assembly, chart analysism coding.
• Computer abstracting of all discharged patient medical records
• Responds to patients in crisis and acts accordingly
• Retrieving charts from the floor
• Putting them together
• Checking for missing signature
• Handling loose filings

Qualifications

Certified Professional Coder Requirements

• Registered Health Information technician certification or Certified Professional Coder certification or equivalent is REQUIRED
• High school diploma or equivalent is required, with one year of coding and/or medical records experience preferred.
• Experience with 3M encoder, Excel and MS4 are a plus
