Palm Point Behavioral Health (affiliated with Universal Health Services) is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital is located in Titusville, Florida minutes from Cape Canaveral. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children and adolescents that suffer from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including, depression, anxiety and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. Palm Point behavioral health offers inpatient treatment options and serve communities in Brevard County and beyond. Titusville, located on Florida’s Space Coast, is approximately 30-miles north of historic Cocoa Beach, and 40-miles east of Orlando’s famous theme parks. The Coder is responsible for coding inpatient and outpatient medical records according to ICD-10-CM and CPT in keeping with AHA coding guidelines. Codes are assigned to all diagnostic and procedural statements as documented in each patient’s medical record to determine the most accurate and optimal MS-DRG assignment.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Thoroughly reads and interprets documentation in the medical record to identify all diagnoses and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency with overall utilization of hospital encoder/grouper and its functions.
• Effectively utilizes AHA Coding Guidelines and other reference sources available within the department.
• Serves as coding resource for other departments/providers.

• Coding certificate from an accredited institution.
• At least one (1) year experience, including ICD-10-CM coding in healthcare management/medical records or clerical field.
