The City of Portland's Permitting & Inspections Department is seeking a full-time Housing Safety Code Enforcement Officer. This role involves ensuring compliance with Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code (MUBEC), NFPA codes, Zoning, and other relevant standards through inspections of residential rental properties. The officer will collaborate with regulatory agencies to promote safe housing, working independently in the field and as part of the Licensing and Housing Safety Division team. Building positive relationships with landlords and tenants is essential.
