Qualifications

• Associates degree required; two years of experience equivalent to a Senior Code Enforcement Officer, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules; reviews timesheets; counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with performance appraisals.
• Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; ensures resources; monitors progress; provides reports to management; assists with procedures and policy updates.
• Responds to citizens' complaints; inspects locations for violations; gathers and investigates evidence; issues warnings and court summonses.
• Addresses illegal signage; educates businesses on sign regulations; facilitates sign disposal and disposal of illegal signs.
• Attends court hearings; performs property inspections; coordinates with law enforcement; prepares action reports and evidentiary materials.
• Performs community meetings; educates public about code compliance and safety; participates in volunteer community improvement efforts.
• Processes department documentation and records; manages open records requests; maintains records systems; prepares forms and reports.
