Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Certifications within one year: Level I Code Enforcement, Level II Plan Reviewer, Level IB Inspector.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Enforces codes; discusses violations with property owners; issues notices and citations; conducts inspections and documents evidence.
• Interprets and enforces federal, state, and local codes; provides technical assistance; discusses issues with developers, engineers, owners, residents, and contractors.
• Reviews blueprints, plans, permits, and licensure requirements for residential and commercial projects; ensures accuracy of documents.
• Maintains records of enforcement activities; enters data; files and retrieves documents.
• Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws/regulations; pursues training and professional development.
• Performs other administrative duties as needed.
