Job summary

The City of Perris seeks a Code Compliance Supervisor to lead a team responsible for enforcing municipal codes and health and safety regulations. You will plan, coordinate, and participate in complex investigations, ensuring compliance and applying enforcement actions as needed.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with other departments, prepare notices and legal documents, and contribute to reports and presentations for leadership and council.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or related field.
• Four years of increasingly responsible code compliance experience with lead or supervisory duties.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.
• PC 832 certificate.
• First Aid, CPR, and CACEO certificates.
• ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification desirable.
• ICC Zoning Inspector Certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, plan, coordinate, and participate in complex code compliance work.
• Direct and oversee staff providing code compliance services; ensure voluntary compliance with codes, licenses, and permits.
• Assist in staff selection, training, and performance improvement; communicate current codes and regulations.
• Review violations, prepare notices, and coordinate enforcement actions with other departments and agencies.
• Prepare reports and presentations; participate in budget processes and city council briefings.
• Investigate violations, document findings, and, when appropriate, advance cases to legal actions or hearings.
