Job summary

Cochise County in Bisbee is seeking a Code Compliance Officer to organize, prioritize, investigate, and resolve a high volume of violations and nuisance complaints under the Merit System Rules. Duties include inspections, notices, hearings, and enforcement actions while ensuring due process and safety.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years in code enforcement, zoning, or related fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of code compliance, zoning, land use, or related enforcement experience.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and county insurance eligibility.
• Pre-employment background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and responds to violations and complaints.
• Inspects properties for compliance with regulations.
• Issues warnings and notices of violations and prepares hearing documentation.
• Maintains records and coordinates abatement activities.
