Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or GED equivalent, and one (1) year of work related experience in code enforcement, municipal planning, law enforcement, building inspection, or related field.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must be able to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly.
• Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 30 pounds and 10-15 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Patrols Logan City and conducts field investigations. Checks for violations of city ordinances and codes, including land use and zoning compliance, residential occupancy, weeds, snow removal, graffiti, and nuisance abatement issues.
• Receives complaints and reports from citizens; investigates, determines nature of allegations, and informs complainants of solutions.
• Gathers evidence and prepares reports; initiates legal proceedings when appropriate; prepares for hearings and testifies in court as required.
• Issues citations or warnings; maintains records and follows up for corrections.
• Reviews codes and directives; provides interpretations to guide enforcement and may assist in updating codes as needed.
• Assists in coordinating abatement of nuisances and vacant structures; enforces property maintenance codes.
• Provides information to the public about codes, laws, and ordinances; conducts public relations to support department image.
