Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 30 college credit hours of related training.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Valid Code Enforcement Officer certification and registration, or willingness to obtain within one year if hired.
• Ability to obtain a Non-Commercial Government Pesticide Applicator License within the first year.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position and communicate effectively with the public.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential, commercial, and other properties to identify violations.
• Notify property owners of violations and explain required actions and deadlines.
• Prepare citations, work orders, mowing requests, data entry, and billing documents.
• Coordinate with city staff to address violations and abatement needs.
• Educate residents on proper solid waste disposal and property maintenance requirements.
• Assist with handling and control of domestic animals using safety practices.
