Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a seasoned COBOL Developer to work remotely on a high-impact AI-related project. You will analyze COBOL code, document business logic, and provide expert feedback on mainframe systems and legacy workflows.

No AI experience required beyond COBOL and mainframe expertise; you will annotate and validate technical materials to support AI data training efforts and modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a COBOL Developer or Mainframe Developer.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL programming and legacy environments.
• Experience with mainframe tech such as JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong documentation and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret COBOL codebases, workflows, and business logic.
• Document COBOL programs, system processes, and requirements clearly.
• Review COBOL code, pseudocode, and project scenarios for accuracy.
• Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential defects.
• Annotate COBOL scripts to support AI training data creation.
• Design and review test cases for real-world COBOL/mainframe apps.
• Provide guidance on legacy system architecture and integrations.
• Collaborate with project coordinators and technical experts remotely.
• Ensure submitted materials meet high accuracy and completeness.
• Support legacy-system modernization and migration projects where applicable.
