Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC in Maple Grove, MN, is seeking a Coax Splicer to install and splice coaxial networks for telecom providers. You’ll perform aerial and underground splice work under guidance, ensuring quality and safety.

You must be at least 18, have a valid driver's license, pass a DOT physical, and bring six months of coax splicing or one year in telecom. The role pays hourly and offers strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Six months coax splicing experience or one year in telecom.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must pass a DOT medical exam and obtain a valid medical card.
• Able to work at heights and in varying environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work through daily production reports, marking maps and material usage.
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles

The wage range for Coax Splicer is$25.00 - $37.00.
