Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is hiring skilled Laborers for 1st shift to support painting, coating, inspection, assembly, and material handling in a manufacturing setting. You will follow process sheets, prepare surfaces, apply coatings, inspect parts, and ensure quality while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires reading blueprints and tape measures, operating hand and power tools, and working well in a team.

Qualifications

• Average math skills; read instructions in English; log and report in English.
• Skilled in operating hand and power tools in manufacturing settings.
• Proven forklift experience in a production environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch; blueprint reading is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions to complete tasks accurately.
• Prepare surfaces for painting; mask, plug, or block surfaces for finishing.
• Apply coatings with precise coverage and avoid overspray.
• Inspect parts and verify quality against blueprints; perform touch-ups as needed.
• Maintain safety protocols and PPE; operate forklifts and move materials.
• Inspect finished parts for quality before advancing them.
• Maneuver large/heavy parts safely; use cranes when required.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Assist in assembly and other duties across departments as needed.
